About Us
Who We Are
Fistbump Media provides managed WordPress hosting and digital strategy for small businesses, creators, churches, nonprofits, and online entrepreneurs. Many of our clients need development help beyond hosting, and we want to send that work to developers we trust.
Our goal is simple:
-
Our clients get great websites
-
Developers get consistent, qualified work
-
Everyone avoids unnecessary complexity
Our Development Philosophy
How We Work
We believe great websites should be both beautiful and practical.
Our preferred development approach emphasizes:
-
Clean, intentional design
-
Strong usability and conversion flow
-
Minimal plugin stacks
-
Performance-conscious builds
-
Mobile-first responsiveness
-
SEO-friendly structure
-
Professional workflows (staging, backups, testing)
We primarily work with Divi, but partners should also be comfortable working in other WordPress themes when needed.
If your instinct is to simplify rather than overbuild, you’ll feel at home here.

Anyone uncomfortable with direct client communication
How the Partnership Works
We use a simple, two-phase structure designed to build trust first and long-term collaboration second.
Phase 1: Referral Partner
(First 3 Full Projects)
All new developer relationships begin with a short trial phase covering the first three full development projects.
We believe referral relationships should be mutual. Fistbump Media also pays referral fees for qualified hosting clients referred by our developer partners.
During this phase:
-
Fistbump Media refers qualified development work to you
-
You work directly with the client
-
We evaluate alignment, communication, and workflow
Referral fee structure during Phase 1:
-
15% on full website builds
-
10% on partial site development and punch-list updates
Referral fees apply only when a referred project becomes paid work.
This phase exists to make sure the partnership works well for both sides.
Phase 2: Preferred Partner Status
After three successful full projects, both sides may agree to move into Preferred Partner status.
As a Preferred Partner:
-
No referral fees are exchanged in either direction
-
We refer development clients to you
- Feature you on our Web Dev page
-
You refer hosting clients to Fistbump Media
-
The relationship is built on trust, not transactions
This is where the partnership becomes long-term and friction-free.
A Mutual Referral Relationship
We believe referrals should be fair and reciprocal.
-
Fistbump Media pays referral fees for qualified hosting clients sent our way
-
Developers are paid referral fees during the trial phase
-
Once Preferred Partner status is reached, referrals flow freely both ways
The goal is shared growth, not nickel-and-diming.
Our Application Process
Rather than a traditional form, we use a guided interview to get to know potential partners.
This allows us to:
-
Ask better questions
-
Understand how you think and work
-
Evaluate philosophy, not just resumes
Step 1: Complete the Developer Interview
You’ll complete a structured conversation that covers:
-
Your experience and background
-
Your portfolio and typical tech stack
-
Your development philosophy and workflow
-
How you communicate and collaborate
-
Alignment with our partner model
Time commitment: approximately 20–30 minutes
Please plan to complete it in one sitting.
At the end, you’ll receive a summary report to send to dan@fistbumpmedia.com for review.
Step 2: Review & Follow-Up
We personally review every submission.
If it looks like a strong fit, we’ll:
-
Reach out to schedule a follow-up conversation
-
Discuss expectations and next steps
-
Potentially start with a small project or punch-list task
Not every interview will move forward, and that’s okay. We’re intentionally building a small, high-trust network.
